(we are not letting you pick the movie though :hahaha:)

I don't know know really :/ I know the most famous fansub yaoi group is aarinfantasy so you can look in their site. The whole seme-uke and rape thing....I can't explain from here :P it's a public place anyway. It has to do more about stereotypes more than anything else. I guess you should look at women's emotional and social state in Japan, since these things are written by and for women.

XDDDD

I think you'll be fed up of me and my posts but my mind has grown legs and left me... I forget things frequently... please watch and comment on the topic of seraphim call... I got 0 answers :( About Ai no Kusabi, ok I'll watch it, don't know when exactly though... You see I got over the first shock and watched a light yaoi-ikoku romantan (if I remember well). Still this sadism in every yaoi and yuri annoys me to hell, but at least this yaoi had some "romantic" moments. Thoughts: Both of the characters were bishies yet the both looked like men. I laughed at the cheesy lines...Why on earth such series must have at least one rape??? geez... And then I keep wondering why there's no hetero smut on OAVs... And I felt kinda schezophrenic at the hot scenes, since I felt like I wanted to be the one who touched the skin of the uke(so to speak if you haven't seen this) and the other moment I wanted to be the uke and be treated like this.... (I'm going crazy...). One more thought- why do these kind of series stuck labels to who is the uke and seme? I mean in hetero relationships both sexes take the initiative, isn't it in reality the same with homo? Ah and sth else. Of course sku is about being human and being yourself, but you can't ignore that sex has a very striking part in the whole series? And well sex is a desire. The one that according to Freud is the desire behind all the desires (or sth like this). And after reading Giovanna's interpretations of sku you can't see the series with innocent eyes, haha. Have you explored the rose garden on empty movement?

oh I forgot! why didn't you like 5cm per sec? In the beginning I was kinda disappointed about the end but I came to understand the optimism in it and the new starts... Have you read the summaries of the novels? You'll understand more about the characters and their drama sfter reading them. The link is in the last pages of the topic.

Well, my view on Utena you know is not on sexuality but on feelings and how people opress them. That's what I feel like when I watch the series, like I am uncovering a series of desires forced to isolation. I mean look at Juri's story, or Miki's, or Shaionji's, etc. That's why i don't really think there's much relation. Personally, Utena feels me whenever I need to feel human :P On Kanamishi no Belladona, well, I personally am really bad when it comes to symbolism too, but I really think that the movie didn't have much to give. Not that I regret watching it though. And there's the diffrence that you didn't like the violent content while I was ok with it but didn't like its connection with the main script. True tears? Haven't seen it really :( I checked anime news network about it but till I check it out myself I can't really have an opinion. Please do my a favour: in case you haven't checked I'd suggest you watch Ai no kusabi, it is one of my favourite yaoi anime ever. I know you don't like watching that kind of stuff but it has a unique script and I'd really like to know what you think of it. Same goes for the Devil Lady series, which is one of my favourite's and it has a lot to do about gender and power.

I talked about relations between knb and sku referring ony to the concept of witch that is related to sexuality and to the need to protect someone you/she love/s. Then again I emphasized the music and the artwork. I said that about the content I wasn't so excited... and I don't think that the movie promoted the idea that feminism has to do with the demon who turtured her, a kind of sadomasochism- nor gives the idea that women's souls like to be raped!?. IMO it gives the whole story not so much through Jean's eyes rather from the fallocratic's society's eyes. The demon has to do with the female sexuality that was "evil" back then. So Jean influenced from the society, at first doesn't want to succumb to her desires, but in the end she kinda finds "peace" with her other "evil" self. She accepts that part of her and that "liberates" her. I don't know if I'm wrong coz I have difficulties interpreting symbolisms... And I didn't search a lot, coz Revolutionary Girl Utena feeds me nth times more with whatever I need to feel woman. There were a lot of points that were...akyra, like the rape connected to her power, but,oh well, it can be symbolical...that a woman "raped" by the fallocracy found the strength to fight her "inner demons" and live her way... dunno. It was sth that leaves impressions in the end- just that... Sth irrelevant: I watched true tears and ok it left you with cliffhangers making you wanna watch it and visually was stunning, but I can't say that the story was wow...just like knb somehow-not exactly...

It's ok like I've told you, it's always a pleasure to talk with another member of the great utena-heads clan :P Today I'm gonna watch Belladona of sadness so stay tuned to the movie's topic to see my post about it :)
