Identities and ideologies that define themselves in opposition to something else, can never bring equality or true empowerment, but only perpetuate a culture of victimhood. We get so enamoured with the idea of being victims, that we never want to give it up. Instead, we want to nurture it and cling on to it. We don't find freedom in safe spaces. They are echo chambers where we only hear comfortingly similar voices, and they only perpetuate our fears. True liberation only comes by walking WITH the other.
