Damn!
Δοκίμασα το bastion (action/platform/arcade με στοιχεία rpg) χθες για λίγο, και τελικά είναι ακόμα καλύτερο απ' ότι περίμενα...

(Προχτές βγήκε σε steam και βγήκε ήδη και πειρατικό)

Από τη μια θυμίζει καλές εποχές oldschool Zelda, και έτσι θα κερδίσει τους παλιούς arcade/platform fans (θυμάστε πόσο χρήσιμη ήταν η shield? ), κι απ' την άλλη έχει μια ομορφιά που το κάνει σύγχρονο και κερδίζει και τους υπολοίπους λόγω animation και δράσης.

Τα πλούσια χρώματα-οι παλέτες και το τόσο προσεγμένο σχέδιο στο χέρι, αν και καθαρά καρτουνίστικο, το κάνουν τρομερά ευχάριστο αλλά και ταυτοχρόνως εθιστικό. Αμέσως Trine μου θύμισε η ομορφιά του. Και απ' την άλλη έχεις ένα απίστευτα πρωτότυπο και ωραίο στο αυτί OST, με τρομερή ποικιλία τραγουδιών τόσο με φωνή όσο και instrumental, το ένα καλύτερο απ' το άλλο. Όλα αυτά μαζί με έναν narrator που προς το παρόν μου φάνηκε το λιγότερο απολαυστικός.

Γρήγορο και εύκολο gameplay, πολλά διαφορετικά όπλα και skills, και πολλές δυνατότητες αύξησης της δυσκολίας για τους πιο απαιτητικούς, ταυτόχρονα ανεβάζοντας τα rewards. What's not to like ; A ξέχασα να πω πως φαίνεται και το σενάριο αρκετά ενδιαφέρον, αλλά προσωπικά έιναι το λιγότερο που με νοιάζει αυτή τη στιγμή σε έναν τέτοιο τίτλο..

Απ' όσο διάβασα στο νετ, τερματίζεται σε ένα 8ωρο (4-8 ώρες per playthrough) αν και υπάρχει content για να σε κρατήσει μέχρι και 20++ ώρες. Άλλο ένα Indie που αξίζει να τσεκάρουν όλοι. Να τι μπορεί να κάνει κάποιος με μόλις 700mb. Προσωπικά ενθουσιάστηκα.

PS : Οι απαιτήσεις του game είναι στα + και πάρα πολύ χαμηλές. Σημειωτέον ότι το δοκίμασα σε πολύ παλιό υπολογιστή με πολύ μέτρια κάρτα γραφικών και μου έπαιζε σε full hd, χωρίς το παραμικρό κόλλημα. (1920x1200)

Άντε μήπως παραδειγματιστούν οι εταιρείες που δεν προσέχουν την ηχητική επένδυση...
Τους έβαλε τα γυαλιά το indie. Τόσο ποιοτική μουσική επένδυση σε action-rpg είχα να δω από σχεδόν εποχή Diablo I. (Το TQ ήταν σάπιο)

Το OST πωλείται για 10$ και έχει ήδη κάνει θραύση, πουλάει σαν τρελό.

βεβαια επισκιαστηκε μπροστα στο χαμο που επικρατει με το Xenoblade Chronicles (το ποιο; )

The Bridge αλλο ενα πολλα υποσχομενο puzzle-platformer indie videogame εντυπωσιάζει για τον πειραματισμο του σε καθαρα ασπρομαυρη παλετα, που βλεπουμε συχνα τελευταια σε μικρα project του παρολα αυτα καταφέρνει να ξεχωρίσει με την ειδιετερη εικονα του, που το κανει να μοιαζει οτι εχει ξεπεταχτει απο σκιτσα εφιμεριδας, και τους μελαγχολικους τονους της μουσικης του που το περιβάλλει να δημιουργουν μια ιδιαιτερη ατμοσφαιρα πιο indie πιο καλλιτεχνικη απ οτι εχουμε συνηθισει στα videogame

Στο παιχνιδι βρισκομαστε μεσα σε ενα ονειρο ενα περιεργο ονειρο που μπορουμε να ελέγξουμε κατα καποιο τροπο την βαρυτητα και να περιστρέφουμε τα παντα οπως εμεις θελουμε για να επιλισουμε puzzle να ανοίξουμε πόρτες και να μετακινησουμε εμποδια..Oσοι πιστοι προσέλθετε αλλωστε το παιχνιδι ειναι φτιαγμενο μολις απο 3 ατομα οποτε θα κυκλοφορησει σε αρκετά λογικη τιμη

Ας κάνω και εγώ μερικά ψευτοreview για τα indie που έχω στο steam (ας είναι καλά τα Humble Indie Bundles )

Bastion
Έφαγα 21 ώρες σε αυτό το αριστούργημα (2 playthrough). Τι να πρωτοπώ? Το gameplay σκέτη απόλαυση (άκουσα ότι το pc version είχε κάποια προβλήματα και ήταν δύσκολο να περπατάς ίσια, αλλά απ'οτι φαίνεται το διορθώσανε) ,η ιστορία πανέξυπνη και το soundtrack είναι αυτή την στιγμή στο κινητό μου. Με τα 1000 recomended

BIT.TRIP RUNNER
Έξυπνο ρυθμικό platformer. Αποφεύγεις εμπόδια πηδώντας, σκύβοντας και κλωτσώντας, και κάθε φορά που αποφεύγεις ένα εμπόδιο, ακούγετε μια νότα. Στον δρόμο σου μαζεύεις πράγματα, που προσθέτουν ένα κομμάτι της μουσικής , και μπάρες χρυσού , τις οποίες αν πάρεις όλες σε μια πίστα, πας σε bonus stage. Ο σκοπός είναι πιο πολύ να ακούσεις ολόκληρο το τραγούδι, παρά να τερματίσεις την πίστα. Αρκετά μικρό παιχνίδι, αφού σε 3 ώρες έφτασα στο 3-4, και 3-12 είναι το τελευταίο. Αν θες να τερματίσεις τα πάντα 100%, φαντάζομε θα σου πάρει κανένα 12ωρο
Παιχνίδι για γερά νεύρα, καθώς δεν υπάρχουν checkpoints. Αν ακουμπήσεις οτιδήποτε πας πάλι στην αρχή. Αν θες ένα δυνατό challenge τότε δοκίμασε το

Braid
Puzle-Platformer με πολύ έξυπνο gameplay. Κάθε κόσμος σου δίνει ένα διαφορετικό "skill" για να χρησιμοποιήσεις. Ο έλεγχος του χρόνου δουλεύει απίστευτα καλά με το platforming, και είναι βασικό στοιχείο σε όλο το παιχνίδι. Η ιστορία κάπως υπερβολικά arty, σε σημείο που δεν ξέρω αν είναι too deep for me, ή απλά ο δημιουργός είπε οτι του κατέβηκε και μας άφησε να ψαχνόμαστε. Αξίζει τα λεφτά του με το παραπάνω

Frozen Synapse
Το ποιο ενδιαφέρον Strategy παιχνίδι που έχω δει. Έχεις στον στρατό σου στρατιώτες, commando, snipers, grenadiers και τρελούς με μπαζούκα, και τους λες που να πάνε. Το ίδιο κάνει και ο αντίπαλος, και όταν πατήσετε και οι δυο ready, τότε κάνουν τα troops ταυτόχρονα τις εντολές. Το όλο θέμα είναι να μαντέψεις τι θα κάνει ο αντίπαλος. Το παιχνίδι δίνει φοβερό control στους στρατιώτες σου, μπορείς να πεις που να κοιτάνε σε κάθε στιγμή της κίνησης, πότε να σκύψουν, για πόσο να περιμένουν πριν κάνουν μια κίνηση κ.α.
Έχετε 5 μέρες να το πάρετε με το Bundle , δεν υπάρχει λόγος να μην το δοκιμάσετε.

Sanctum
Παιχνίδι tower defense, σε συνδυασμό με first person shooter. Βάζεις τοίχους , turret , πατώματα που κάνουν slow και άλλους μηχανισμούς άμυνας. Ταυτόχρονα έχεις 3 όπλα, assault rifle, freeze gun και sniper, και μαζί με τα defense systems που έβαλες, πλακώνετε στο ξύλο τέρατα για κάθε τέρας που σκοτώνεις παίρνεις λεφτά, τα οποία ξοδεύεις σε επιπλέον tower defense stuff, κανείς upgrade αυτά που έχεις ήδη, ή κάνεις upgrade τα όπλα σου. Πολύ καλό παιχνίδι, και απίστευτα διασκεδαστικό multiplayer

Swords and Soldiers HD
Αρκετά αστείο καρτουνίστικο strategy παιχνιδάκι. H πίστα είναι μια γραμμή, στην μια μεριά ο αντίπαλος, και απέναντι εσύ. Αγοράζεις Gold Miners, μαγείες και στρατιώτες, οι οποίοι πάνε για ντου απέναντι.
Πολύ απλό, διασκεδαστικό παιχνίδι , αλλά το 10 ευρώ του δεν το αξίζει. Αν το βρείτε σε καμία προσφορά μισοτιμής , πάρτε το

Τερμάτισα το Orcs Must Die. Ελέγχεις έναν μάγο που έχει σκοπό να υπερασπιστεί μια πύλη, το rift όπως λέγεται μέσα στο παιχνίδι. Αντίπαλοί σου κάθε φορά είναι orcs, ogres και άλλα μοχθηρά κι άμυαλα πλάσματα.
Ξεκινάς την πίστα έχοντας στη διάθεσή σου ένα χρηματικό ποσό και διάφορες παγίδες που μπορείς να τοποθετήσεις όπου θέλεις πληρώνοντας το αντίτιμο φυσικά. Στη συνέχεια δέχεσαι κύματα επιθέσεων και όταν αυτά τελειώσουν έχεις ολοκληρώσει την πίστα.
Με κάθε εχθρό που σκοτώνεις παίρνεις λεφτά με τα οποία τοποθετείς και άλλες παγίδες.
Όσο προχωράς, το παιχνίδι θα σου δίνει κι άλλες παγίδες και στην αρχή της πίστας μπορείς να διαλέγεις ποιες θα πάρεις μαζί σου.

Το gameplay δεν έχει μεγάλη ποικιλία αφού στην ουσία μιλάμε για ένα tower defense παιχνίδι. Η μόνη διαφορά από άλλα παιχνίδια του είδους είναι η δυνατότητα να συμμετέχεις ενεργά στις μάχες ελέγχοντας τον μάγο σου.
Ο οποίος μπορεί να βαράει από κοντά ή από μακριά, αν και οι περισσότερες μακρινές επιθέσεις του καταναλώνουν ενέργεια η οποία αναπληρώνεται με την πάροδο του χρόνου.

Το σενάριο δεν έχει κάτι το φοβερό αν και το τέλος του παιχνιδιού με συγκίνησε ιδιαίτερα. Το χιούμορ του κινείται σε μέτρια επίπεδα και η μουσική αν και τείνει να επαναλαμβάνεται είναι ευχάριστη.

Συνολικά ένα αξιόλογο παιχνιδάκι από τη Robot Entertainment που απαρτίζεται από μέλη της διαλυμένης πια Ensemble Studios.

Όποιος δεν ερωτεύτηκε την φωνή του Narrator/Stranger/Rucks, δεν έχει ψυχή. Χωρίς αυτήν, το παιχνίδι θα ήταν μισό, στην καλύτερη περίπτωση, πιστεύω.

The Silent Age

The Silent Age looks just groovy, baby. Set both in 1972 and a disquieting version of 2012, The Silent Age is a minimalistic point & click (should that be point & touch instead?) adventure for the mobile platform. Starring Joe, a red-suited janitor who exemplifies the phrase 'Joe Average', The Silent Age will have players moving through time to save humanity from an impossible calamity of some sort.

We're doomed.

Okay, perhaps not. Either way, The Silent Age looks like it will be an absolute delight for those with iOS and Android phones (Sorry, Windows 7 users. You are not loved.). And judging from the blog post, they've put a fair bit of thought into the whole matter, something I do wholly approve of.

Pid

The Bionic Commando: Rearmed veterans at developer Might and Delight announced Pid, a "delightful platformer" set for release next year as a downloadable title for console and mobile platforms.
Pid's characters are equipped with gravity-bending beams of light that can be attached to any surface, allowing players to cross treacherous terrain. The force can also be used to "move enemies and objects, deflect bullets, activate machinery and change level layouts." It's an intriguing mechanic, and promises to inspire plenty of bitter arguments in the game's two-player cooperative mode.
Might and Delight has not yet secured a publisher for Pid, but hopes to launch the game in the second half of 2012 for PlayStation Network, Xbox Live Arcade, and PC platforms.

Moby Dick 2

Ah. Moby Dick. The great white scourge of the Seven Seas and of classrooms across the globe. We've all fallen asleep to Captain Ahab's saga at some point in our lives. Fortunately, La Ventanita and Mostro Games' intepretation of the subject matter is a lot more interesting than most.

In this sequel, players will once again be able to take on the role of Moby Dick and commit incalculable amounts of damage to boats and sea-faring humans. Those who have played the original will probably feel right at home with its successor as the core mechanics have not changed one bit. There are, however, a few enhancements. In Moby Dick 2, you'll have an abundance of upgrades to work with. something that offers a level of strategy to go with the arcade-y fun.

Kikka

A sequel to Nekogames' Ouka (released just two weeks ago), the puzzles in Kikka involve figuring out how to assemble twelve petals to form a chrysanthemum flower. Each stage requires a different solution, and a hint button is provided at the bottom of the screen to help you out when you need it.


Just like its predecessor, Kikka features a total of sixteen stages to play through, although the entire game can be beaten in a matter of minutes. The end screen also shows you how many times you've resorted to using hints, and players can even tweet about their achievements online if they feel like doing so.


Kikka is available to play at Nekogames.

Eufloria

Minimalistic in nature, Eufloria is basically the story of an alien invasion. You're the commander of the interstellar Euflorians. Your mission in life is a simple one: conquer as many asteroids as possible as to be able to beguile the mysterious 'Growers' into returning. Along the way, you encounter the hostile 'Greys' and must take them on in order to proceed. It's a simple tale, one that has been told countless times before. However, unlike other real-time strategy games, this one is fought with vegetation.

Much of the gameplay revolves around you directing your seedlings from one planet to another (that's accomplished by clicking and dragging) and growing trees in order to increase the mass of your army. Contrary to how things are in real life, growing a tree here is pretty easy. All you have to do is be certain that there are enough seedlings on that particular asteroid before clicking on a button. From there, the seedlings will tunnel into the earth and assist in the the production of an abstract-looking tree. The seedlings that was born will be influenced by the characteristics of their home planets, something that you'll be able to use to your advantage. In addition, you'll also be able to make use of things like defense trees and flowers.

SARCIA

SARCIA, an upcoming episodic project manned by Michael Lavoie and Yann Van Der Cruyssen, is almost unreasonably pretty. Inspired by games like Ico and Sword & Sworcery, SARCIA is apparently a minimalistic story-driven side-scrolling adventure game, something that will probably go over well with fans of the indie gaming industry, I imagine.

Right now, SARCIA is in search of funds on RocketHub. It looks like the $1500 that they're asking for will be funneled into the purchase of licenses and to allow the creators to work full-time on the project till it's capable of self sustainence. So far, they've only amassed $510 and there's 3 days left. If you think the endeavor is worth a few bucks, you can donate cash at their RocketHub page here.

Gunpoint

Ever since the group behind stealth puzzler Gunpoint replaced the project's placeholder graphics with a dark and detailed look that actually seem to do the game's concept justice, I've hoped that a video would come out to show the new graphics in motion.


Indie developer Tom Francis (John Roberts and Fabian Van Dommelen helped with the art) has finally released that clip I've been waiting for two months later -- watch this walkthrough video in full-screen to see how great this looks all animated and whatnot.


Here Francis takes us through a few stages, explaining the premise, missions, upgrades, and most importantly the Crosslink system that allows you to hack into light switches, elevators, and other electronics to manipulate the stages and their security guards.


Gunpoint is expected to release for Windows first around "probably Christmas". Francis also hopes to create a version for Linux systems, but he admits he doesn't know how to port this Game Maker title yet.

Re-Logic's side-scrolling world-building/exploration title Terraria has received a major update, adding a number of significant features and changes.
Terraria 1.1 introduces a staggering thirty-six new monsters, including a new underworld master that unlocks additional world challenges upon his defeat. Friendly NPCs have been tweaked and bugfixed, and three new NPC characters can now appear in player worlds after certain conditions are met.
A multitude of new items, weapons, and accessories have also been added, including mannequins, pressure plates, and liquid-transporting pumps. And if you ever wanted to host your own in-game rave, Terraria now features colored torches and multiple lighting modes.
Re-Logic has dropped the price of Terraria for today only to promote the latest update; the game is currently available via Steam for $2.50. A full list of changes is available at the Terraria forums.

^Ευχαριστώ για τις προτάσεις, έψαχνα καινούργιο παιχνιδάκι για να παίξω. By the way, έπαιξα και'γω το Bastion, απίστευτη παιχνιδάρα είναι.

Το τελευταίο humble indie bundle σίγουρα αξίζει να το αγοράσει κανείς, με Cave Story + super meat boy μέσα. Αν δεν τα είχα μπορεί να το αγόραζα.
