Hello. Maybe some of you guys remember that i needed help with translating some names to greek for a fanart piece I was working for, and you kindly helped me. I wanted the pic to have greek text because of the strong greek mythologic motif in the manga, so i did it that way.

Well, here is the final pic, a pic I made as a tribute to Masami Kurumada's Saint Seiya manga, and i wouldnt have been able to make it without you guys. Deviantart scaled it down a lot so if you want the large pic with the large characters let me know and i will send it to you. For those familiar with the characters, i will make another version with them wearing their "mask" headpieces.

There is more info about the pics in my deviantart.

Here is the second version:

no no, its nothing like that.
I just viewed the thread for the first time : let me explain :
No matter what the initial motive was, you created this fanart using pre-drawn pics of the characters most probably colored by yourself. After doing so, you inserted them in a cheap photoshop drawn background and created a circle using 80% fat brush.
When the circle that had no shading or lighting effects was done, you simply faded the chars from whatever bottom they had and placed greek text written in times new roman?
So :
> Too much blue
>no difference amongst pixels, pattern is repeating
> textstyle sucks,
>Greek text is spelled correctly and stands pretty good but it looks lame to ppl from greece (were the ones to blame for that )
>Textcolor is plainly anoying
> No changes were made to vector based items (like letters) i mean you could have added an effect or 2-3
>The good thing is the ancient ..uhm what to call it in eng..lets say accents (those dots above words) , yeah theyre totally cool ,
>No relief for the eye , it looks like a badly designed HTML site for horoscopes...

Given all the above statements i didnt like it, and certainly i wouldnt even try viewing it if i saw it on the INTERNETC

Hope i covered you, the stars didnt~
With regards, Eze

WHAT???

PREDRAWN????

I made those pics, the characters, I drew them myself...i didnt take them from any picture, i drew them myself and colored them myself.

Here is the scrap i posted in Deviantart when i was making it: You can compare them to other pictures drawn by me in my gallery and will notice the style is the same.

I think that is more than enough proof...but i have even more xD

And i understand the greek text looks lame for greek people, right, i have heard so before about things like that, but the art is completely mine, i made them myself, i could even post more of the line art, before i colored it. I wanted the pic to have greek text because of the strong greek mythologic motif in the manga, so i did it that way. I didnt rip them from drawings or whatever youre hinting at. I also understand that my composition maybe was bad, but at least the characters were completely drawn by me, not stolen. Anyway, my intention wasnt for the zodiac wheel to look great, i just wanted to have it depicted in a simplistic way, to have the characters, as the real focus of the pic, not the wheel xD...

Anyway, thanks for the input xD...but youre wrong in saying i took the characters as i drew them myself. Maybe i can take that as a compliment though xD...they looked good for you to think that haha...

Well i like the way the figures are drawn and i dont mind the contents of the text. Its not your fault anyway if some things don't sound cool in greek.

I d like to propose something though if that s alright with you. Could you try the exact same thing with a black sky and convert the colour of the circle and the letters in something that looks better as a whole with the characters (a shade of ochre or goldish colour maybe?)? Using shade in the text would also be a very good idea.

oh i see, theresproof. Well thats good, seeing tah t i mistook the characters for original manga material means theyre drawn pretty much perfect.
still only the characters are nice. As iristella said, try using another bg image and more shades. (<- last sentence is a quick edit)

How could I have missed this thread?

Are all these drawn and colored by you? They look nothing short of professional! I'm impressed (and I don't use this word that often).

Here are a few rather insignificant suggestions on how to make this a little better.

1a. Switch the direction of the text, from "Σούρα του Αιγόκερω" in Capricorn to "Σάγκα των Διδύμων, Κάνον των Διδύμων" in Gemini, so that it's easier to read. Same goes for "Η ΕΛΠΙΔΑ ΘΑ ΕΡΘΕΙ ΑΠΟ ΤΑ ΑΣΤΕΡΙΑ".

OR...

1b. Rotate all characters so that their heads point toward the center of the circle. Rotate the corresponding zodiac signs accordingly as well.

2. You can (and it's actually preferable to) shorten "Σάγκα των Διδύμων, Κάνον των Διδύμων" to "Σάγκα και Κάνον των Διδύμων".

3. The word "ΘΑ" in "ΟΤΑΝ ΤΟ ΚΑΚΟ ΘΑ ΚΑΤΑΚΛΥΣΕΙ ΤΗ ΓΗ" is obsolete. You can (and it's actually preferable to) delete it.

Hi, Kenny, thanks so much for your really kind word, i dont think it came out all that good, but i really appreciate it, thanks. I find your suggestions very useful, specially in Saga and Kanon's text and i will keep them in mind.

Once again thanks so much

Hi, I have completed the quick fanart I was making thanks to the kind help of users of this forum, for the doubt I had about the greek spelling of the name of the character:

Here is the link. It's no big deal, of course xD, so please don't expect something great xD:
